AKS Art Challenge – Create Through Your Format
Synopsis
AKS Art Competition – Choose your format: photography, artwork, or creative writing. Ismaili CIVIC sponsorship. 2-4 weeks. Portfolio building and artist recognition.
The Challenge
AKS Art Competition – Three Ways to Create
You get three different creative formats to choose from. Photography, artwork, or creative writing. This is one competition but multiple paths to victory. Pick what you’re actually good at instead of forcing yourself into one format.
What’s Happening
Twenty-eight thousand people search for this annually. The Ismaili CIVIC runs it. They’re serious about fostering young creativity. Your work gets evaluated by actual artists and professionals.
Your Three Options
You could take photographs that tell a story. You could create artwork in whatever medium speaks to you — paint, sketch, sculpture, digital art. You could write short stories or poetry.
Timeline Reality
Two to four weeks. Honestly most of the time is thinking about what to create, not actually creating it. You can do this alongside school without it consuming your life.
The Timeline Breakdown
Week one: Decide your format — be honest with yourself about what you’re good at. Week two: Create something that matters to you. Week three: Polish and present well. Week four: Submit.
Why People Actually Enter
Recognition from actual artists. Portfolio pieces for college applications. Proof that you can create seriously. Community of other young creatives.
What Judges Actually Value
Authenticity. Work that shows personality. Work that doesn’t try too hard to impress. Work that makes judges feel something.
Getting Started This Week
Think about which format speaks to you most. Photography if you see images in your mind. Writing if you’re always telling stories. Art if you like making things with your hands. Start small — nothing has to be perfect yet.

What is AKS?
A national arts competition run by Ismaili CIVIC Pakistan. It was launched in September 2021 with three categories: Photography, Creative Writing and Artwork (painting and sketching).
Who could enter?
Pakistani youth aged 8 to 25. Winners were listed in age groups of 8 to 12, 13 to 17 and 18 to 25.
What was the theme?
The 2021 theme was “Coexist: Living in Harmony with Nature”, encouraging young people to express their relationship with nature and ideas for environmental sustainability.
Is there a current round?
I did not find a current round when I checked on 16 October 2026. Look at the Ismaili Pakistan website (the.ismaili/pakistan) and the organisers’ youth channels.
Which format should I choose?
The one you are strongest in. Photography suits people who see images, writing suits storytellers, and artwork suits people who like making things by hand. The AKS Art solution helps you decide.
Last checked: 16 October 2026. Details come from Ismaili Pakistan’s announcement of the 2021 winners.
