Synopsis

GIKI admits undergraduates on earlier results plus a multiple-choice test based on Pakistani intermediate Physics and Mathematics, with no quotas or reserved seats. In the last cycle published on its page (2025), applications ran April to June and the test was held 9 to 13 July. Last checked 16 October 2026.

The Challenge

GIKI admission: how selection works

Last checked: 16 October 2026, against GIKI’s undergraduate admissions page. When I read it, the page still showed the 2025 cycle, so the dates for the next entry are not published there yet. Use the pattern below as a guide and confirm every date on giki.edu.pk and the admissions portal.

How GIKI decides

GIKI says admission to its bachelor programmes depends on a candidate’s earlier educational achievements and their score in the admission test. The test is multiple choice and based on Pakistani intermediate-level Physics and Mathematics. The institute states that there are no special quotas, no reserved seats and no admission by donation, and no arbitrary age limit. It is open to students of any religion, class or domicile who are academically qualified.

The last cycle on GIKI’s page (2025)

Third-party guides report that the 2026 cycle followed the same spring-to-July pattern, but I could not confirm that on the official page. Applications are made online at admissions.giki.edu.pk. GIKI also has a girls’ hostel with space for 120 students.

Why it is hard

1. Two subjects carry the test. Physics and Mathematics must both be strong.
2. It comes right after FSc exams. The test falls in July, soon after board papers.
3. Merit uses earlier results too. Your educational record counts alongside the test.
4. Financial aid has its own deadline. Documents were due four days after the application deadline last time.

Common mistakes

Waiting for the portal to open before checking your documents. Memorising formulas without practising MCQs under time. Ignoring the financial assistance date. Assuming the marking scheme without reading the applicant guide.
