Round Forms open Form deadline Aptitude test Result
Round 1 1 October 2026 9 December 2026 Sunday, 20 December 2026 30 December 2026
Round 2 1 January 2027 8 March 2027 Sunday, 21 March 2027 31 March 2027
Round 3 1 April 2027 9 June 2027 Sunday, 20 June 2027 30 June 2027
  • Interviews: BBA, BS Accounting and Finance and BS Business Analytics candidates who pass the test are interviewed. Round 1 interviews are scheduled for 1 to 8 January 2027. Interviews do not apply to BSCS, and no interviews are listed for the Economics and Social Sciences programmes.
  • Classes start: Monday, 23 August 2027.
  • Apply: only through IBA’s online portal. There is no manual form.
  • Test mode: in person at designated centres. IBA does not offer an online aptitude test.
  • Several schools: you can apply to more than one of IBA’s three schools with one common test. You pay a separate fee for each school, and you cannot switch to a school you did not apply to after results.

What the aptitude test covers

  • Mathematics (MCQs), with a published syllabus for each school.
  • English Composition (MCQs).
  • Difficulty: SAT-I level, according to IBA.

Past papers and syllabus files are published on IBA’s admissions site. Check IBA’s own sample paper for how marks are given and whether wrong answers lose marks.

Who can apply (BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, BS Business Analytics)

HSSC with at least 65% marks, or A Level with at least two Bs and a C in three principal subjects, or a US or Canadian high school diploma with at least 80%, or an IB score of at least 25 out of 45 (24 for some programmes). Foreign qualifications need an IBCC equivalence certificate. BS Computer Science and BS Mathematics need a Pre-Engineering or General Group with Mathematics background and at least 60%.

Taking the SAT or ACT instead

IBA lets candidates skip the aptitude test if they apply on SAT or ACT scores. IBA is clear that there is no minimum score, that direct admission or an interview is not guaranteed, and that only the top scorers on the SAT merit list move forward. If your SAT is not among the top, IBA recommends sitting the aptitude test as well. Because a candidate who skips the test and does not qualify goes onto the list of unsuccessful candidates, think carefully before relying on the SAT alone.

Last year’s cut-offs, as a guide

In IBA’s published result for Fall 2026 Round 1 (BBA, BS Accounting and Finance and BS Business Analytics), the IBA test cut-off was 76 in Math and 76 in English, with 196 in total, where each section was out of 180. The SAT cut-off on the same list was 600 in Math, 600 in English and 1460 in total. These numbers describe one list in one round. Every round and every year is different, so use them to plan, not to predict.

Why the IBA test is a challenge

  1. It is a ranking test. Cut-offs are set by how well other candidates do.
  2. Two sections, both must clear. A strong Math score does not rescue a weak English score.
  3. Dates are close together. Round 1 falls in the middle of the school year.
  4. Interviews follow. For business programmes, passing the test is only the first step.

Common IBA test mistakes

Missing the form deadline. Applying to one school only when you might qualify for another. Skipping English practice. Relying on the SAT alone. Not reading IBA’s own sample paper.
