What the written test looks like
The test lasts 3 hours and covers Mathematics, English plus Islamiat, and Urdu plus General Science. It is a booklet with a space under every question, and no extra answer sheet is given, so you must write your answers in the space provided. The Urdu and Islamiat paper is compulsory. Non-Muslim candidates may leave out the Islamiat part by writing “NON MUSLIM” on the answer sheet. The Islamiat portion is attempted in English only.
Test centres named by the college are Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi, Quetta and Abbottabad, physical centres in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and an online option for other overseas candidates.
After the written test
Candidates who qualify on merit are called to the college for an interview and a medical examination. The interview may cover spoken English, IQ and general knowledge, a psychological assessment, physical fitness and IT awareness. Final selection rests on overall performance in the test, the interview and the medical examination.
Why it is hard
- Three stages, not one. A strong written paper is only the first step.
- One written booklet. Space is limited, so neat, short answers matter.
- A fixed age window. A child outside it cannot apply, and the college allows no relaxation.
- Scholarships are limited. The college says financial help is not guaranteed for all applicants, and awards are treated as Qarz-e-Hasna.
Common mistakes
Applying on the last day. Uploading an unattested Form B. Practising only Maths and ignoring the Urdu and General Science paper. Never practising in a booklet with limited writing space. Leaving fitness and spoken English until after the test.
