Synopsis

A 16-week GIKI test plan built on an MCQ test of intermediate Physics and Mathematics: concepts first, topic drills next, timed mocks last, with financial-aid documents prepared early. Last checked 16 October 2026.

The Solution

GIKI test solution: 16 weeks

Last checked: 16 October 2026. Read the GIKI admission test challenge first. GIKI says its test is multiple choice and based on Pakistani intermediate-level Physics and Mathematics. The next test date is not published yet. In the last cycle shown on its page the test was in July, so count 16 weeks back from the date once it is announced. Until then, treat the plan below as a template.

Weeks 1 to 6: concepts

Go through the FSc Physics and Mathematics syllabus topic by topic. For each topic, understand the idea before you solve problems. Write down each formula once, with the situation it applies to, and one worked example. Do not memorise formulas you cannot explain.

Weeks 7 to 12: MCQ drills by topic

Solve multiple-choice questions on one topic at a time. Check every answer and write the reason you missed each wrong one: concept, calculation, or misreading. Track your accuracy per topic on one page, and spend extra time on the lowest three.

Weeks 13 to 15: timed mocks

Sit full mock tests at the same time of day as the real test. Start with one a week, then two. Review each mock in full before you attempt the next one. Practise skipping questions that are taking too long and returning to them.

Week 16: calm and logistics

Revise your formula sheet and mistake notebook. Check the test centre, your admit card and ID. Sleep well. Do not start new topics.

Alongside the plan

  • Apply as soon as the portal opens at admissions.giki.edu.pk, because GIKI also weighs your educational record.
  • If you want financial assistance, prepare those documents early. Last time they were due four days after the application deadline.
  • Read the applicant guide on the portal for the marking scheme. I could not confirm whether there is negative marking, so do not assume.

Common mistakes

Skipping concepts and jumping to MCQs. Practising untimed. Neglecting Mathematics because Physics feels harder, or the other way round. Missing the financial aid date.

Frequently asked questions about GIKI test preparation

Which subject should I prioritise?

Both, since the test is based on Physics and Mathematics. Use your topic-accuracy page to see which one is dragging your overall score.

Can I use ECAT or NUST preparation for GIKI?

The Physics and Maths base overlaps, but each test has its own format and marking scheme, so practise on GIKI-style MCQs close to the date.

When should I start?

At least 16 weeks before the test. Starting during FSc Part 2 is common and gives you more time.

Do I need coaching?

Not necessarily. Honest timed practice and error review matter more than the venue.

What if I miss the application deadline?

You cannot sit that year’s test. Plan for the next cycle and keep your preparation going.
